Our Policies

C5 injection
Please be sure that your pet’s vaccinations records are up to date. This includes a C5 injection which needs to be administered a minimum of 10 days prior to arrival.  A C5 vaccine covers Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para influenza and Bordatella. A copy of a current vaccination certificate is required on arrival so we may keep it on file. It can be very difficult to arrange last minute vet visits so please plan ahead.

Capstar
All dogs entering our facility will be administered a Capstar tablet.  This is to ensure fleas are not brought into our environment for the safety of your pet and allowing a healthy and flea free environment for all our guests in our care. For more information on Capstar please click link:    http://www.capstarpet.com/

Flea Management
Frontline, Revolution, Comfortis, Panoramis, Advocate, & Advantage. We require your pet to be flea treated on arrival by one of the above products unless already done so by owner. The cost is to administer Comfortis is $25. This is also to ensure that all dogs are flea free.

Medications
We can administer medications. There is no extra charge for administrating basic medication. Special or extensive medication regimens will be reviewed and a pre-determined charge will apply at a daily rate. Please pack all medications separately and do not put medications in your dog’s food. We will happily administer vitamins at no extra charge as long as they can be placed in your dog’s food during their dining times.

Meals and Special Diets
You are welcome to provide your pets own food or receive a personalized menu designed by us. If you choose to bring your pet's food, please package individual portions in zip lock bags for the amount of days required.

Belongings
You may bring toys or bedding from home that you think might help your pet be more comfortable during their stay, but please be aware that these items can also be tempting by other guests too, so please allow for a little chewing on occasion.

Condition of Dog
At Margaret River Pet Retreat we strive to maintain a very high standard of cleanliness and sanitation. We request that all dogs entering Margaret River Pet Retreat be adequately groomed.

Opening Hours
Hours - 7 days per week, 8:30am to 10:00am and 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Early or Late Drop-Off is available by pre-arrangement only for an additional $20.

Cancellations
During normal business periods, we ask for three (3) days’ notice for cancellations.  For peak and holiday times, we request two (2) week cancellation notice.  For cancellations other than within these timeframes, a $50 charge will occur.

Breed Exclusions
While we do not discriminate based on breed solely, we do consider the safety of all our guests and have the right to decline any dog which we feel can cause harm to others. So please do not try to book your dog in with us if it has any antisocial behaviour.  We pride ourselves on a loving environment.

Unsterilized Dogs
No females in season or within 30 days either side of a heat cycle will be admitted for the safety of all guests. Any female who appears to be coming into heat during her visit will need to be picked up immediately, and you will be charged for the remainder of her scheduled visit.  Unsterilized dogs will not be integrated into playgroups. While we recognize that unsterilized dogs are usually excellent with other dogs, their sexual status can have an undesirable effect on group chemistry which poses a risk not only to other dogs but to your dog as well.

Veterinary Service
The Margaret River Veterinary Hospital on Station Rd has graciously offered to visit our facility when required. There will be a call out fee of $58.00 for consult including $2.50 per km return travel plus any medications needed. Margaret River Pet Retreat will make all attempts available to us, to contact you, prior to this call out, to receive confirmation of the expense of the veterinary visit.
